Egyptian Society Taunton

Egyptian Society Taunton

Welcome!

The Egyptian Society Taunton welcomes anyone with an interest in Ancient Egypt!

The Society was founded over three decades ago by a group of people, led by the late Professor Christine El Mahdy, to promote the study of Egyptology and to provide a meeting place for people with a love of Egypt, through activities such as regular lectures, disseminating information about courses, day schools and residential courses, arranging visits and trips, etc".

We meet in person on the second Saturday of each month from September to June at St James Church in the centre of Taunton.

We hope that many members will continue to attend in person and are very sorry to lose members who are unable to do so.  The Society will retain its Zoom licence to enable us to offer Zoom for the Literary Festival event, but also as a back-up should we need it in the future for unforeseen events such as rail strikes etc.
