Egyptian Society Taunton

Egyptian Society Taunton

Welcome!

The Egyptian Society Taunton welcomes everyone with an interest in ancient Egypt!

The Society was formed over three decades ago by a group of people, headed by the late Professor Christine El Mahdy, to encourage the study of Egyptology and provide a meeting place for people with a love of Egypt, through activities including regular lectures, disseminating information on courses, day schools and residential classes, arranging visits and trips, etc".

Our meetings take place on the second Saturday of the month from September to June but, as previously advised, lectures will continue to be delivered by Zoom until the end of the 2021-22 season. All members, and any visitors who have registered, will be sent a log-in link a few days in advance of each Zoom lecture.

Society membership has outgrown our former meeting place so the Committee is pleased to announce a resumption of in-person meetings

at St James Church in the centre of Taunton,

from September 2022 through June 2023.
